Mackenzie is now 6 months old, it’s crazy how fast she is growing. She had her second trip to Iowa in early January. The two of us were there just in time to make it to my mom’s birthday dinner. Mackenzie has picked up a few new tricks and a few changes:

  • high fives
  • rolling over to get across the room
  • sitting up all by herself
  • a new tooth (3 total on the bottom)
  • eating solid foods (favorites include carrots and pears)

Here are links to our two newest photo albums, don’t forget to check them out and view all the pictures!

Iowa Trip – January
1/12 to 1/28

A few other things to share:

  • I’ve completed a website, check it out here and let me know what you think. I designed it and put the entire thing together in about a weeks worth of time. I’m looking at making webdesign my main focus other than Mackenzie.
  • Karen has created a blog for her trip to India, check it out here
  • I’ve also purchased my own domain name, and I’m working on getting my website up, feel free to check it out to see what’s going on with it. Right now it just says coming soon, but hey whatever

I finished reading Craft, Inc. by Meg Mateo Ilasco (her blog). It is an amazing and very helpful book for creating your own “craft” business. I’m working on doing this because I want another way to have an income while being able to stay home with my daughter when she is born.

The book really explains the legal side of things. I’ve tried reading other books like this before, and none of them really connected with me (I never finished reading them). This book also has many interviews with creative people who started out all on their own, and are now selling their “crafts” all over the world. There is so much inspiration in this book.

Today as I was leaving work, I met Amy from LuCoo and she has some really cool designs. They currently have pillows like the one to the right, in four designs, t-shirts, hoodies, and the coolest plush with the same designs as the pillows and the t-shirts. I really loved the plush, they don’t have it on their site yet, but when they get it up, it’s sure worth checking out.

It was nice being able to ask another person in the field that I want to get into questions. She gave me a lot of good resources, and that pushed me. Today I contacted someone for legal advice on getting things started. I do need to create my products, but that’s easier than dealing with all the legal stuff that I need to do. Creating can come when the baby is here, I wont have a lot of time, but I can create whenever she doesn’t need me to feed her or hold her. Hopefully, she’ll love her little swing we got her.
