Happy New Year

I created a scrapblog for our 2008 in review. Check it out by clicking the above picture and come back to leave us a comment. I feel as though nobody is reading, because we don’t get any comments anymore. Let us know what you think!

From Mackenzie November/December

Today Mackenzie met Santa she loved him during the pictures then all of a sudden she flipped. I love this picture! Her second tooth came in today another exciting thing. And feel free to click on the link to check out the entire album.

Mackenzie got her first tooth this week. She was up all night Monday night, and then Tuesday I realized that my baby girl had a tooth that popped through on the bottom. She doesn’t like to show it off, so I can’t really get a picture of it yet.

Four months is also one third of a year. So my baby is now 1/3 year old, crazy way of thinking of it.

Mackenzie’s new stats:
weight: 15 lbs 8.3 oz
height: 25.5 inches

I’ve found a great new website for selling my items. I like it better than etsy because, they plant trees for items being listed. I still have my etsy store, but here’s a link http://Srenee.ShopHandmade.com to my new home at shophandmade.com

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted a blog, but it’s hard when I’m spending so much time with Mackenzie. Lately I’ve been able to pry away for some me time to create, even though I’m creating for her. Soon enough I’ll be creating for me.

At first she isn’t sure about it…but then she really gets into it. This is the tutu I created for Mackenzie, for her first Halloween. This is the second tutu, but now she has a third one that she hasn’t tried on yet. You see the first I made, and then thought to myself I can make this better. And I did, till I thought I’m going to add some ribbon to the elastic around the waist. Big mistake, it only made is worse. Now she has the perfect little tutu that will grow with her for a year or two.

A few more things, I’ve started creating my pouches again. I made a bunch for a swap and have given many of them away, so now I’ve made some to sell. I’m going to start getting things ready to sell and promote myself. I’ll also be doing baby, toddler, and children’s tutus, depending on the size and length will determine the price. One like Mackenzie’s would be $35, very reasonable considering I’ve seen these in stores for $60. Anyways check out my pouches.

From Mackenzie’s Iowa Trip

She’s here!!! Mackenzie was born July 23rd at 3.52 am. She’s 8 lbs. 4 oz and 20 inches long. That’s all for now, just wanted to make an update about what was going on.

Well we are at the hospital today, waiting for an induction. Over the night Karina had her baby, and it was kind of funny. It was only funny because I heard a loud noise (it was a woman pushing) and it woke me up, it happened a few more times and then I heard the baby crying. About 5 minutes later Karina sent me a text saying that Alice had been born, so at that moment, I knew that it was Karina in the other room.

I’ll have more updates at a later time on what’s going on with me.

On Sunday Dan and I went to Marissa’s baby shower. It was tons of fun, and there was lots of yummy foods! Zack, Melissa’s husband took this photo and I absolutely love it, it’s so cute with all of our bellies touching. I also got some sun at the baby shower which was really nice because there isn’t really anywhere that I can just sit outside and read or anything here at home.

Anyways we’ve past the due date, I’m not worried about that at all. Dan keeps calling though to see if I’m in labor yet, he’s needs to learn patience. Mitch (Dan’s brother) and my mom will both be here on Thursday (which is also Dan’s Nana’s birthday), so if she isn’t born before Thursday I wont be upset. I’d rather have family here, since neither of us have any family here now. My mom is leaving tomorrow morning and is driving here from Des Moines, Iowa.

Another thing, so before I posted my Car Seat Cover post my site only had about 300 views total. After that post and all of the comments and what not going on, I’ve had 525 views on that post alone and 1,062 views total. It’s crazy how so many people have viewed my blog, I was hoping that my blog would bring in people for the things that I sew, but that isn’t how it’s been, oh well. I just wanted to get all that out. Sorry it’s been awhile since I’ve made a post, but I’ve just been trying to get things ready around the house. I do have some new things to share, but I don’t have pictures so it will have to wait till later.

Here are our cloth diapers that I’ve been sewing for our little girl. They are pocket diapers, and we have 27 extra smalls all ready to go. These only take me about 30 minutes to sew, and they come along pretty nicely.

I have all of the small already cut out and ready to be sewn, it’s a lot easier to sew them in assembly line form. When I do this, I’ll do about 6 to 9 at a time. Hopefully our little girl doesn’t grow too fast before I get the smalls sewn up.

I should also get to ordering more fabric from verybaby.com and cutting out mediums, but then again she might not need those for awhile.

My favorite diapers are the prints, but they take more time to sew. They are also a little more difficult, due to adding the print outside of the PUL waterproof layer.
